Technically Accurate

I mean, I'm running across the world in 3-D, though I'm not wearing a silver lycra bodysuit and rubber boots, nor am I carrying a rad laser blaster and shooting down dragons in a dystopian checkerboard future.  To be fair, I did see a pretty cranky looking squirrel this morning.

There's been a fair amount of activity since my last post; I finished up C25K and started my first foray back into the world of outdoor running, which was a relatively painful experience.  My shoes were in dire need of replacement, and moving from a super cushy slat treadmill to the harsh reality of CONCRETE was a shock to my system, but also my poor, angry shins.  And then, at the end of April I had... well, I won't get into the details here, but some minor surgery that kept me off my feet for three weeks.  It was a good time for me to take a break anyway, as I was starting to have some fairly major heel pain issues.

I started back up in the middle of May... and then was promptly sidelined for another several weeks due to allergies.  June, however, I started back up strong, and am currently in the middle of a "Bridge to 10K" program.  Just a few days ago, I ran the farthest I have ever ran, at a pace that while I feel could be better, I was surprised with.

In the meantime, I've purchased new shoes, which make me feel like I'm being propelled forward on a cushion of air elementals.... that's a straight up lie, but they feel better than my old shoes.  We've also since filled out our Ragnar team, and started planning in earnest for our long run from St. Paul to Duluth.  Moving forward, it's just more miles, and probably maybe cutting down on the chips and beers until the race.  Gotta keep those knees and shins from blowing out, leaving me easy prey to our wolf friends on the trail.
